$75,000 (2016). To hire a Housing First Worker to assist youth in finding new rental locations, following their stay at the shelter or in the Transitional House. Assist the youth with transportation; for example to the food bank, doctor's appointments, etc.
With a grant from the Home Depot Foundation and the support of our local Orangeville Home Depot; Choices was able to update and remodel a very outdated kitchen to a more modern useful kitchen. Thank you.
On September 6, 2012, Choices Youth Shelter was recognized by the Atkinson Charitable Foundation with the 2012 Ruth Atkinson Hindmarsh Award, worth $50,000, for its commitment to serving disadvantaged youth in rural communities.
